Natural Health

A holistic lifestyle includes supporting our physical health through means which support life - the energy, vitality, and wellbeing of our physical, emotional, and mental body. Medicine which does not acknowledge, respect, and support our total wellbeing is limited and lacking in how it can support our physical health.

Natural health is that which supports nature - and the nature of our body is to heal itself. Thus, natural health does not work to change our body, but rather support its innate ability to bring itself back into balance.

Natural health has been practiced since humans inhabited this planet. Historically speaking, "modern" medical practices are very young. Currently, over 80% of the world's population still relies on natural sources for healthcare. Why? Because they are accessible, affordable, sustainable, and effective without the prevalent side effects of many modern treatments.

Natural health is a practice of interest to those who are concerned with the health of the environment around them. How we care for our bodies is a direct reflection of our attitude toward our earth. Natural health uses methods which support the planet which sustains our life - because our physical health can only be as strong as the health of the environment in which we live, on a local and a global scale. Can we truly be living with concern for climate change and ecological damage if we continue to treat the microcosm of our physical body with the same chemical substances which cause widespread environmental destruction?

Ecological herbalism, holistic nutrition, flower essences, and other modalities in the natural health field are taught using philosophy-in-practice education which brings students into the gardens and the field for hands-on learning.
