An integral view of the vital and fundamental relationship between birth and sex
Sex doesn’t just get the baby started. It isn’t just an act that occurs behind a locked bedroom door. Sex is part of who we are, the vital life force, and the manifestation of creation energy. As birth-workers, we need to understand and appreciate the profound and fundamental connections between these two facets of sexuality.
Labor and birth share the same equipment, as well as a similar electro-chemical and neurobiological milieu. Both are altered states of consciousness and psycho-somatic-spiritual journeys. By understanding the similarities of the two states and how each process as an essential part of the other, it’s possible to see them in a new light.
This essential class describes the inherent connections between labor and birth, and sexual arousal and orgasm. Understanding the connections of these experiences will provide you with new tools and techniques to assist your clients in their passage, as well yourself in your own ecstatic journeys.
