Essential oils can be a helpful component to your health and home, but there is still confusion on how to use them safely and effectively. In this weekend workshop, you’ll learn the basics of incorporating aromatherapy in your daily life to breathe better, prevent illness, uplift your mood, and keep your home clean.
In this workshop you’ll learn:
- the basic principles of aromatherapy
- what to look for when purchasing essential oils
- how to use essential oils to shift your mood
- the do’s and don’ts on using essential oils on the skin
- how essential oils can prevent common illnesses
- how to use essential oils for green cleaning
Over the course of the weekend, you will learn about and experience 20 different essential oils. You’ll take home detailed profiles on these oils and get to use them during the in-class blending exercises. Make your own inhaler and pure essential oil blend to take home. Notes and materials are included.
Nyssa Hanger, MA, LMT, RA, is a second-generation aromatherapist and the Assistant Director of the Atlantic Institute of Aromatherapy. Founded in 1989 by Sylla Sheppard-Hanger, the Atlantic Institute provides premier education in aromatherapy and is one of the oldest aromatherapy schools in the country. Nyssa was a founding member of the United Aromatherapy Effort in 2001 and has continued to be an active member since. An international speaker on aromatherapy, she writes the aromatherapy column for Massage Today. She is also an active member on the Board for the Alliance of International Aromatherapists. The founder of Upward Spiral, a wellness center in Tampa, FL, Nyssa has been practicing massage therapy since 2005. She sees clients for massage and aromatherapy consultations, teaches classes, and has her own line of essential oils and signature blends. Her dream is to grow both her local and virtual communities to help as many people as possible find the upward spiral within themselves. She sees the work that she does in helping others heal as one of the deepest forms of activism. She endeavors to approach each day with devotion.Nyssa holds a Master’s Degree in Religious Studies from the University of South Florida. She is also a Registered Yoga Teacher.
