DRUMBEAT, Building Resilience Through Rhythm and Thoughts, facilitated by Cynthia Keeler M.A., Art of Counseling/Science of Well-being.

This 5 week class will be about discovering relationship using music, beliefs, emotions, attitudes, and thoughts through core rhythms, rhythm games, discussion, and improvisation. This is not your traditional drum circle or a class to specifically learn to play the drums.
This program has been developed over years and has been found to help:
·      Reduce anxiety
·      Improve emotional regulation
·      Increase sense of belonging
·      Increase musicality
·      Improve self-esteem
·      Increase recognition of healthy and unhealthy relationships
·      Increase awareness of the diversity of the human experience and tolerance of differences.

To maximize your benefit from this course, your commitment to attend all 5 classes is strongly encouraged.

Tuition: $50 for all 5 classes.
If you have a drum, feel free to bring it with you to class.  We will also have drums you can use during class.

Instructor Cynthia Keeler

Cynthia Keeler M.A. is a Mental Health Counselor who specializes in the use of Expressive Arts to promote prevention, health and well-being through fellowship, joy, laughter, and creativity. Through her private practice, the Art of Counseling/Science of Well-being, she offers workshops, retreats and seminars that promote opportunities for creative expression and personal empowerment. Cynthia is creative, dynamic, and energetic and enjoys bringing her upbeat programming to the Central Florida Community and beyond. She is thrilled to be facilitating this inaugural DRUMBEAT, Building Resilience Through Rhythm program in Orlando.  Cynthia is a graduate of the University of Colorado B.A. Psychology and a graduate of Rollins College with a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.

Welcome to our main campus.  During weekdays, parking is available in the two spots in front of our building, or streetside along Thornton Avenue and Concord Street (south side of Concord only).  After 5 pm and on weekends, all six spots in our lot are available, as well as the lot behind our office.  Please plan accordingly.
