Humankind has fostered a relationship with fire since our earliest history. To build a sacred fire is to empower your fire with that ancient wisdom and continue that ceremony in your own life. During this class, you will learn each sacred step in the fire making process.  Participants will get to take home an ancient fire making device.

Join Stephen as he demonstrates the art of sacred fire making.

He currently works at Bok Tower Gardens as a Garden Educator. His lifelong love of plants has taken him many interesting places as he continues to answer the call of the plants. His passion is ethnobotany, especially man’s call from the natural world to be in balance with the earth. He is an earth-skills practitioner learning and teaching others valuable lessons of survival living. Stephen studied wilderness survival and earth skills at The Tracker School, where he completed over 20+ classes. In the 1990’s he taught wilderness survival at the Red Hawk Outdoor School and led many survival treks into the Catskill and Adirondack Mountains. Over the years he has continued teaching others and for the last six years has held an annual wilderness survival weekend for charity in central Florida.    He is blessed to learn from Emily Ruff and all the amazing teachers at the Florida School of Holistic living where he completed the Community Herbalist Program. Stephen shares his life with his wife Sara and we are most proud of our two children who continue to teach and inspire us.
