Basics of Herbal Medicine – In Basics of Herbal Medicine, you will learn essential vocabularies, such as the difference between extracts, tinctures, capsules, infusions, and decoctions, standardized, holistic balance, as well as the safety and efficacy of herbal medicines.
This class is offered Live via Zoom on Sunday, March 7, 9:30 – 11 am. All registrants will receive the course recording and handouts, with access to materials for one year.

This can be taken as a stand-alone class or as a requirement for The Natural Nurse Herbal Certification Course (18 CE) This class can be taken as an a la carte or as part of the 4 class series, Natural Nurse Herbal Certification Course which meets once a month for four months. If any class in the series is missed it can be made up via the Archives.
This series, offered by nurse and herbalist Ellen Kamhi, RN, is designed to offer flexibility for beginning or advanced herbal students. Use this series of classes to ignite your inspiration for better health with practical plant-based tools. Feel free to attend any one class on an individual basis, or all four of the classes in the series. Now offered ONLINE!
Join nurse and herbalist Ellen Kamhi for an empowering and enriching journey into basic herbal medicine. Attend any one of the four workshops as a drop-in course, or attend the entire series for a discount. Practitioners wishing to receive Continuing Education Units and others who would like to receive a Florida School of Holistic Living Certificate, must attend the full series, pay the CEU processing fee, and complete all assignments.
This class meets for four Sundays over a four-month period, from 9:30-11 am. The class will be live online with the instructor in real-time. It will be interactive with question and answer sessions.
Natural Nurse Herbal Certification Course
Class 1- Basics of Herbal Medicine: Sunday, March 7, 9:30 am – 11 am
Class 2- Botany & Botanical Nomenclature: Sunday, April 11, 9:30am-11am
Class 3- Using Herbs for Yourself and Your Family: Sunday, May 2, 9:30 am- 11 am
Class 4- Feeling the Consciousness of Plants: Sunday, June 13, 9:30 am- 11 am
Assignments can be emailed to the instructor. Capstone Herbal Preparation Project will need to be ‘snail-mailed’ to the instructor. All attendees who complete the full series and submit all assignments will receive a Certificate of Completion from the Florida School of Holistic Living.
Participants can choose to take the full course, or any one of the modules, for their own personal learning, without paying the accreditation fee.
Students may register for a single class, or for the full four-part series. Save $25 for total price of 4 classes, when choosing the full series. An additional $45 savings is available to CEU seeking students. Notice 18 CEUs available for the series vs. 12 CEUs for all classes taken individually.

- Purchase course textbook, The Natural Medicine Chest, by Ellen Kamhi, PhD RN and Eugene Zampieron, ND
- Complete homework assignments
Participants will receive a certificate indicating the level of course work and hours of study completed.
