Natural Nurse Herbal Certification Course


This class, offered by nurse and herbalist Ellen Kamhi, RN, is designed to offer flexibility for beginning or advanced herbal students. Use this series of classes to ignite your inspiration for better health with practical plant-based tools. Feel free to attend any one class on an individual basis, or all four of the classes in the series. Now offered ONLINE!

Join nurse and herbalist Ellen Kamhi for an empowering and enriching journey into basic herbal medicine. Attend any one of the four workshops as a drop-in course, or attend the entire series for a discount. Practitioners wishing to receive Continuing Education Units and others who would like to receive a Florida School of Holistic Living Certificate, must attend the full series, pay the CEU processing fee, and complete all assignments.
This class meets for four Sundays over a four-month period, from 9:30-11 am. The class will be live online with the instructor in real-time. It will be interactive with question and answer sessions.

Natural Nurse Herbal Certification Course
Class 1- Basics of Herbal Medicine: Sunday, March 13, 9:30 – 11am
Class 2- Botany & Botanical Nomenclature: Sunday, April 10, 9:30 – 11am
Class 3- Using Herbs for Yourself and Your Family: Sunday, May 15, 9:30 – 11am
Class 4- Feeling the Consciousness of Plants: Sunday, June 12, 9:30 – 11am

The class sessions are offered Live via Zoom on the scheduled dates below. All registrants will receive course recordings and handouts, with access to materials for one year. If you miss a class, you can make it up anytime via the archived class recording.

Assignments can be emailed to the instructor. Capstone Herbal Preparation Project will need to be ‘snail-mailed’ to the instructor. All attendees who complete the full series and submit all assignments will receive a Certificate of Completion from the Florida School of Holistic Living.

Participants can choose to take the full course, or any one of the modules, for their own personal learning, without paying the accreditation fee.

Students may register for a single class, or for the full four-part series. Save $25 for the total price of 4 classes, when choosing the full series. An additional $45 savings is available to CEU seeking students. Notice 18 CEUs available for the series vs. 12 CEUs for all classes taken individually.

Florida School of Holistic Living Certificate available for any attendees who complete the requirements below (Recommended for all interested individuals, as well as natural health professionals.):

To receive CEU’s or a Certificate participants must:

  • Attend all four classes*
  • Purchase course textbook, The Natural Medicine Chest, by Ellen Kamhi, PhD RN and Eugene Zampieron, ND
  • Complete homework assignments

Participants will receive a certificate indicating the level of course work and hours of study completed.

Basics of Herbal Medicine
Sun March 13, 9:30 am- 11 am
Essential vocabulary, such as the difference between extracts, tinctures, capsules, infusions, and decoctions, standardized, holistic balance, as well as the safety and efficacy of herbal medicines.

Botany & Botanical Nomenclature
Sun April 10, 9:30 am- 11 am
This class covers the importance of Latin names when communicating with other herbalists, the Doctrine of Signatures, Identification of Plant Families, and edible, medicinal, and poisonous specific plants within several families.

Using Herbs for Yourself and Your Family
Sun May 15, 9:30 am to 11 am
This class covers common herbal “first aids” for colds and flu, ear infections, stomach upsets, and other mild health issues that can be handled at home, that can help cut down on the use of potentially problematic pharmaceutical interventions.

Feeling the Consciousness of Plants
Sun June 12, 9:30 am to 11 am
Since ancient times, people have experienced plant communication. We are now validating this reality with scientific investigation. Learn how to integrate plants into your life, soul, and medicine, and how to decide which remedy is the “right” one. Learn simple plant dowsing techniques and consider herb-drug interactions.

Ellen Kamhi, Ph.D., RN, AHG, AHN-BC is a wildcrafting intuitive herbalist and is adept at radionics and dowsing.
