We are delighted to offer a dedicated Youth Program for children ages 3–12 at the 2026 Florida Herbal Conference. While parents and guardians explore our workshops, young herbalists will dive into hands-on nature activities, music, storytelling, and plant-inspired crafts — guided by experienced educators in a nurturing, small-group setting.
Registration fee for the Youth Program is $25. An accompanying parent or guardian must be attending the conference event.
Description
Your child will enjoy a day of fun and activities, hosted by Schoolhouse and educator Mark DeMaio.
9:15-9:30: Kiddos will start the day by getting to know each other and creatively expressing their identities as budding herbalists. Children will decorate name tags and placemats to use for their conference creations throughout the day, alongside free play as kids get settled into our Sprouts learning space.
9:30-10:15 Kids will learn the importance of wildflowers for pollinators and ecosystems as they create wildflower seed bombs to seed the world with wildflower love
10:30-11:30 Let’s make some music! Children will create musical shakers, then choose between Sprout Tag or free playground play for those who want to move.
11:35-11:50 With our newly crafted instruments, kids will enjoy Music & Story time with Mark
12-1 Children will get to know about the avian neighbors that support our herbal gardens and wild ecosystems by crafting pine cone bird feeders
1:30-2:30 Let’s create and connect with the botany and mycology of Florida by making paper flower necklaces and paper bag mushrooms. We’ll close our time with free play to enjoy our wild spirits together.
Please contact us after registration with any allergy or medical information we should be aware of, or questions. Parents will sign a waiver with emergency contact when checking their child into our youth program.
